Scrumptious Thanksgiving Recipe: A few Easy Unique Thoughts

Scrumptious Thanksgiving Recipe: A few Easy Unique Thoughts

By: kevinnairvij

The november month has reached and it’s time to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving is known for its festive foods, parades, football, family and friends, and, of course, turkey. So, its time to to look out for some tasty recipes for the occasion of Thanksgiving day. In given article I have experimented a new recipe which I am sure will be liked by you and your family.

Thanksgiving Day, that is also famous as Turkey Day, is in reality a harvest festival celebrated in United States, Canada and other countries.

Eating turkey on Thanksgiving Day is an integeral part of tradition and custom. Of course, there might be reasons for eating turkey on the festive day of Thanksgiving. Whatever may be the reason, it’s a fact that wild turkey is definitely a wonderful delicacy which we can have on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day.

Well, you must be very eager to know some delicious turkey recipes. You can try the given below recipe for this year Thanksgiving Day.

With this recipe, which is termed as cranberry orange stuffed turkey, you can add little spice to the Thanksgiving recipe and the dish can be served along with tasty sauce. To start with, you will require 18-22 pound fresh turkey. For stuffing, you will require; 3 cups cranberries, 1-1/2 cup orange juice, ? cup sugar, 1 cup butter (melted), 1 package herb seasoned cubed stuffing, 3 cups celery, 2 medium onions (chopped), ? tsp pepper, ? tsp all spice plus few salt to taste.

For making sauce, you will require 2 packets of frozen cranberry-orange sauce and ? cup orange juice.

First, you need to combine cranberries, sugar and orange juice in 3 quart pan and cook them on medium heat. Stir them continuously till all the cranberries are cooked and sugar is dissolved properly.. Meanwhile you can mix up the remaining ingredients of stuffing in a bowl and also make sure to preheat your oven to 325degrees. Combine the cranberries mixture to the stuffing mixtures and mix them correctly. Now take the turkey and stuff it with this prepared mixture. Once the stuffing is complete, you have to put the stuffed turkey in a roasting pan and start baking it as per the directions on the packet of the turkey. Normally it requires 5-6 hours for turkey to be fully cooked. You can also insert the meat thermometer inside the turkey and check whether it is cooked or not. If the thermometer is showing 180 degrees in thigh portion of the turkey, then you can take out the turkey from the oven.

On the other hand, do not forget to make sauce which is going to be served with the stuffed turkey. You need to mix all the ingredients of sauce in a saucepan and cook on medium heat, say for 4-5 minutes.

Serve your cranberry- orange stuffed turkey with the yummy sauce and ENJOY!

Go ahead with this easy recipe and have a fantastic Thanksgiving Day.

Eating Mango is Really Beneficial for Health

Eating Mango is Really Beneficial for Health

By: Corwin Brown

The mango originated in Southeast Asia where it has been grown for over 4,000 years. Over the years mango groves have spread to many parts of the tropical and sub-tropical world, where the climate allows the mango to grow best. Mango trees are evergreens that will grow to 60 feet tall. The mango tree will fruit 4 to 6 years after planting. Mango trees require hot, dry periods to set and produce a good crop. Most of the mangos sold in the United States are imported from Mexico, Haiti, the Caribbean and South America. Today there are over 1,000 different varieties of mangos throughout the world.

Vitamin Content: Mango is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Vitamin C content is more in raw mango as compared to that in ripe mango. It also has traces of Vitamin E, Vitamin B and Vitamin K.

The dulcet, juicy insides of the mango pack a nutritional punch. Its characteristic orange color is a clue to its storehouse of beta carotene (Vitamin A). Ripe mangos hold the highest levels of beta carotene, while green mangos are higher in Vitamin C. These antioxidant carotenoids are known for their protective power against certain cancers. Mangos also supply ample potassium, making them ideal for hypertensive patients or anyone looking to replenish energy after physical activity.

Mangoes are high in antioxidants, low in carbohydrates (although they are about 15% sugar – but good sugar!) and like other yellow/orange fruit such as pumpkin and carrot, they are an excellent source of beta-carotene (Vitamin A). They also contain Vitamin E and selenium which help protect against heart disease and cancer. You can obtain 40% of your daily fibre intake from a mango.

We all know the importance of fiber in our diets. If you are eating your mango-a-day, irregularity is not a problem for you and so we’ll spare the gruesome details regarding constipation, piles and spastic colon. Research has shown that dietary fiber has a protective effect against degenerative diseases, especially with regards to the heart; may help prevent certain types of cancer, as well as lowering blood cholesterol levels.

The nutritional value of mango makes it good for weight gain, eye disorders, hair loss, heat stroke, prickly heat, diabetes, bacterial infections, sinusitis, piles, indigestion, constipation, morning sickness, diarrhea, dysentery, scurvy, spleen enlargement, liver disorders, menstrual disorders, leucorrhea, and vaginitis.

Mango, being high in calories and carbohydrates, is good for those who are trying to gain weight. The phenolic compound found in mangoes has been found to have powerful antioxidant and anticancer properties. Being high in iron, mango is said to be very good for pregnant women as well as for people suffering from anemia. Mango is believed to be effective in relieving clogged pores of the skin.

Mangoes are a good source of vitamins and minerals essential for the human body. It is an affordable and seasonal fruit. In India mangoes are grown widely in the southern belt. ‘Alphonso’ variety of mango which is exported world wide is cultivated in ‘Ratnagiri’ in the southern part of India. Mangoes can be eaten both raw and ripe. Raw mangoes have a sharp sour taste, while the ripe mangoes are juicy and sweet to eat. The fragrance of ripe mangoes tingles ones taste buds.

Grilled Pizza Recipe

One of our regulars, Kellie, provided us with an awesome recipe for Grilled Pizza and she wanted us to share this with you!

Check out the recipe, try it and let us know what your thoughts are!

Thanks Kellie!

Grilled Pizzas

Sautéed spinach pizza (Makes 4 individual sized pizzas)

1 ball of fresh chilled pizza dough

Approx ¼ c. garlic flavored olive oil or 2 cloves garlic crushed and ¼ c. extra virgin olive oil

Approx 10oz fresh mozzarella (cut into about ½ in. slices) or whole milk mozzarella shredded

3 handfuls fresh spinach

Lemon

Parmesan cheese for topping

Preheat grill to high heat (all burners, for about 15- 20 min, shoot for 475-500 degrees).

Meanwhile, put dough on a floured surface sprinkle some flour on top and cut pizza dough into 4 equal pieces. Set aside.

In a skillet, heat 1Tbs of the garlic olive oil to medium heat (or use reg. extra virgin olive oil and add 2 cloves crushed garlic, heat just until garlic bubbles and remove garlic). Remove some oil leaving only 1 Tbsp. in the pan. Add the fresh spinach, add a little salt and pepper, and sauté just until starting to wilt (takes maybe 2-3 minutes). Set aside.

Flatten out your 4 dough pieces, not to thin. Place on a cookie sheet and brush all over with olive oil (or garlic oil) on both sides (you’ll find the thicker you leave it the easier it will be to handle). Turn you burners to cook indirectly, and place dough (no toppings yet) on grill (off of the direct heat) for about 4 min, flip and do other side another 4 min. Now you have a flat bread to work with for making your pizza. Drizzle about 1 tsp garlic oil and add some cheese then add spinach (divided equally amongst the 4 pizzas).

Place topped pizzas back on your grill. This will just take maybe another 2-3 minutes (depending how hot the grill is and how crispy you like it) until the cheese is melted. Remove from grill and top with a drizzle of olive oil and a small squeeze of fresh lemon juice and lots shredded parmesan cheese.

Once you have this technique down, the toppings are endless; here are some other suggestions:

Zucchini with Herbed Goat Cheese-

(Another white pizza)

Sprinkle the cooked dough with some herbed goat cheese and a few slices of fresh mozzarella, top with thin slices of zucchini. Cook for maybe 3-4 minutes. Remove from the grill and top with a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice (not too much or it will get soggy) and a little sprinkle of black pepper and parmesan.

Sausage and Jalapeno-

Top cooked dough with a spoonful of your favorite pizza sauce, sprinkle some shredded whole milk mozzarella, a few slices of thinly sliced onion, scatter around a little cooked crumbled, sweet(mild) Italian sausage and top with some slices of fresh jalapeno ( or use Serrano peppers for more heat).

Get creative and have fun. Enjoy!

Learn How To Prepare The Most Disgusting Halloween Recipes Eve

Learn How To Prepare The Most Disgusting Halloween Recipes Ever

By: Mary Walsh

To stimulate one’s appetite, presentation is key. Food that looks appealing can get people crave for them. If you’re looking for added fun and gross dishes for your upcoming Halloween party, here are some ideas that are sure to be a big hit and is sure to really make party guests scream in delight.

Pimple Poppers

Ingredients:

1 dozen cherry tomatoes, drained

Soft cream cheese spread, flavored

Core the tomatoes using a small knife. Stuff the holes with cream cheese using a butter knife. By gently squeezing them, you give the gross idea of popping out a pimple. Arrange onto a platter and serve.

Hairball salad in drool dressing

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado

Sprouts

Grated carrots

Vinaigrette or any salad dressing of your choice

Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop out the flesh and put in a bowl adding the sprouts and mashing it using a fork. Having some lumps is fine. Set aside. Then, distribute the grated carrots evenly depending on how many servings you like. Form hairballs the size of walnuts and put them over on your grated carrots. Then drizzle the salad dressing, which constitutes the ‘drool’. Serve.

Ghoulish Eyeballs

Ingredients:

6 hardboiled eggs

6 oz. cream cheese, whipped

7 oz green olives, with pimiento

Red food color

Toothpick

Remove the shell off the eggs and remove the yolks. Stuff the hole with whipped cream cheese so as to form the eyeball. Press one olive to every eyeball. Make sure the pimiento faces up. Now, draw broken blood vessels in the stuffing using the toothpick dipped in red food color.

Stale Bath Water

Ingredients:

12 oz frozen lemonade

2 liters lime soda

Half a gallon sherbet

Thaw the sherbet for about 15 minutes and place in a container. Prepare the lemonade according to package instructions and blend with the lime soda and the sherbet. At this point, the sherbet should melt and turn into grayish-brown liquid, much like used bathwater. You may use colored mints to float on your scummy-looking drink.

Gooey Brains

Ingredients:

1 pack jello

1 carton cottage cheese, small-curd

1 can of berries of your choice, in thick syrup,

Food coloring

To prepare:

First, make the jello according to instructions. Set aside to chill. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese and your choice of berries carefully, as cheese constitutes the brain matter. Add food color. On a serving plate, place a few tablespoonfuls of your jello, which makes for your brain fluid. Drizzle with thick syrup. Top with the cheese-berries mixture. Serve.

Make these recipes a part of your Halloween party menu. These are must-try gastronomic wonders that are bound to have your party guests screaming in utter delight.

How To Cook The Best Olive Oil Bread In The World

How To Cook The Best Olive Oil Bread In The World

By: Paul Ritch

Olive Oil bread is fantastic to eat with anything, but goes particularly well with pasta and any Italian food. My great friend big Tony showed me how to make the tastiest olive oil bread in the whole world, and it actually tastes better then anything I have ever had served to me in a restaurant. My mate big tony is a panel beater of Sicilian background but he cooks like a professional chef and his family own a well-known Italian restaurant in our city.

I thought I should explain all that because when you eat the finished product it really will blow your mind, and you are going to be left wondering how a panel beater could pass on a recipe like the one below.

Tony had me write all of the ingredients down and do some shopping before calling over to his place. All I had to do was turn up with a carton of persona beer and receive a cooking lesson like no other. My shopping list had me picking up the following items dry yeast, white sugar, flour, olive oil(best you can find) and of course the persona so Tony and I  could get a little drunk as we made the olive oil bread.

Cooking with Tony felt a little like being in a scene from the God Father. We had Sinatra playing loudly as we through our ingredients around on the bench and began to create bread that tastes like no other. So anyway, we laid our ingredients out on the bench.

Step one: Heat a half cup of water to about 120 degrees and then mix four tablespoons of olive oil. One teaspoon of sugar, one teaspoon of salt and a half spoon of active dry yeast. All in a large bowl and then mix in well with the warm water.

Step 2: tip two, a bit cups of flour into the bowl, and use your hands to make a soft ball. Take your time with this step and really kneed your hands around until you have a soft perfectly formed ball.

Step three: Add additional flour to ensure that your ball becomes soft and easy to kneed.

Step four: Place your perfectly round ball into a really well greased bowl. Place a cover completely over the bowl and leave it for exactly ten minutes. It will have almost doubled in size by then.

Step five: Once you return shape your bread anyway you like. Tony showed me in a way that left the dough in a large perfect ball shape. Place the ball or whatever you have created on a greased up piece of paper and cover again, this time leaving for half an hour. Again allowing the bread to rise.

My suggestion at this point is to drink two quality beers as it will help with the creative process and it will make the bread taste better in the end I promise.

Step 6: Have you oven preheated to 390 degrees and then place the bread into the oven and leave for exactly 32 minutes. Your bread will have a lovely glow about it at this point.

Step 7: break two eggs in a bowl and whisk for 3 minutes, then brush two spoons of egg onto your bread and place back in the oven for a further 4 minutes.

The result will be bread that tastes like it was made in heaven or maybe even a prison in Italy. Either way I am confident you will love how this bread tastes and when big Tony offered to teach me how he cooked pasta I was there in a heart beat.

Fast and Easy Recipes for Drinks and Goodies for Kids’ Halloween Parties

halloween

It’s fun to flip through the Halloween books and magazines and imagine crafting and cooking all the darling holiday ideas. Then reality gets in the way. You probably don’t have an extra 30 hours to commit to preparing your kids’ Halloween party, so here’s some super easy and affordable food and drink ideas to make your party a hit.

Monster milk recipe

Encourage your mini monsters to wash their candy down with a glass of milk.

Make monster milk by adding 3 drops of green food coloring to every 8-ounce glass of milk.

Mummy hot dogs recipe

Want your kids to eat some actual food before they go trick-or-treating? Prepare some fun mummy hot dogs.

You’ll need:

  • 11-ounce tube of ready-to-bake bread stick dough
  • 12 hot dogs
  • 1 egg
  • a little water
  • a little mustard

Open the bread stick dough package and separate the strips of dough. Wrap a strip around each hot dog. You’ll want to leave a gap in the wrapping close to one end. This leaves an area to add eyes to the mummy. Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on a greased baking sheet. Whisk the egg with about a tablespoon of water and brush over the dough. Bake the wrapped hot dogs at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Use a toothpick to place dots of mustard on the hot dogs to give the mummys eyes.

Ghost finger sandwiches recipe

Find a ghost-shaped cookie cutter at a grocery or craft store. It should be about 3 to 4 inches in size.

Then you’ll need:

  • 24 slices of white bread
  • 12 slices of deli ham
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • mustard and/or mayonaise

Use your ghost cookie cutter to cut ghost shapes from the bread. Cut the same shape from the cheese slices and ham slices. Lightly spread mustard and/or mayonaise on the ghost bread and apply a cheese ghost to half the ghost breads. Then add ham pieces and finish assembling the sandwiches. Should make 12 ghost sandwiches.

Mad scientist punch recipe

Fill your cauldron at your Halloween party with this yummy green punch.

  • 12-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate, partially thawed.
  • 1 quart white grape juice
  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 5 drops green food coloring
  • 2 liter bottle of lemon-lime soda
  • Garnish with an ice ring filled with creepy gummy candies

In a big pitcher mix the juices, water, food coloring and then chill. Next, arrange gummy candies like worms and fingers in a ring mold and fill with water. Freeze overnight or at least 8 hours. When it’s time to party, pour the chilled juice mixture in a punch bowl, slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda so it does not fizz too much. Add the ice ring and serve.
